Commercial law and contract law are closely related but have distinct differences.

Commercial law refers to the body of law that governs business and commercial transactions, including the sale of goods, banking and finance, and maritime law. It deals with the regulation of commercial activities, including the formation and dissolution of companies, bankruptcy, and other business-related issues.

Contract law, on the other hand, is a branch of civil law that deals with the formation, enforcement, and interpretation of contracts. A contract is a legally binding agreement between two or more parties, in which one party agrees to perform a certain act or provide a service in exchange for something of value from the other party. Contract law governs the rights and obligations of the parties involved in a contract and provides remedies for any breaches of contract.

In summary, commercial law is more broad and deals with the regulation of commercial activities, while contract law is specific to the formation, enforcement and interpretation of legally binding agreements.
