JIMI OLUKAYODE BADA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the ruling of Ogun State High Court Ota Judicial Division delivered on 19th day of June, 2018 in Suit No – HCT/186/16 BETWEEN : (1) YAYA IDRIS (2) ALHAJI TAJUDEEN BELLO (3) MR. JULIUS OLAWORE (4) MR. TUNDE BALOGUN AND (1) MR. ELISHA ODOFIN (2) MR. ADENIYI AJAYI (3) MR. SHOLA ODOFIN (4) MR. ELIJA ODOFIN wherein the claimant’s counsel’s application for adjournment was refused, and claimant’s case was closed.

Briefly the facts of the case are that the Appellants instituted an action at the trial Court vide a Writ of Summons and other front-loaded documents dated 25/4/2016 for a declaration that their arrest, detention and dehumanization for the period 13th – 16th December, 2016 by the Police at the behest of the Respondents was wrongful, unlawful and damnable.

Pleadings were duly exchanged by the parties.
