JUDGMENT

INTRODUCTION
1. This is an appeal against the judgment of the High Court (Fast Track Division), Accra, delivered on 30th July 2012, convicting the Appellant and 2 other accused persons of the offence of conspiracy to commit robbery contrary to section 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960, (Act 29), as amended by Act 646. The Appellant was also convicted of the offence of robbery under section 149 of Act 29, as amended, and sentenced to twenty (20) years’ imprisonment in hard labour (IHL), for each offence, after considering mitigating factors. Sentences were to run concurrently. The Appellant’s plea is for mitigation and reduction of sentence, premised on the Appellant’s claim that he has tremendously reformed after serving a substantial portion of his prison term.
