UWANI MUSA ABBA AJI, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal is against the judgment of Honourable Justice J. K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court Sitting in Kano, Kano Judicial Division, in Charge No. FHC/KN/CR/84/2016, delivered on 8/7/2016, wherein the Appellant was convicted and sentenced variously on the 4 count charges against him to run concurrently for possession of firearms contrary to Section 27 of the Firearms Act, LFN, 2004.

The charges against the Appellant contained at pages 3-4 of the records in the Charge Sheet dated 8/4/2016 read as follows:

That you Dahiru Abdullahi of Rugan Alhaji Jalo Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on the 9th May 2015 was found in possession of three (3) makorov pistols which you imported into Nigeria from Niger Republic, at Panpeguwa in Kaduna State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, which is an offence contrary to Section 3 and punishable under Section 27 of Firearms Act, Cap F28 Laws of …
