IKYEGH JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): The appeal challenges the judgment of the Kwara State National Assembly/ Legislative Houses Election Tribunal (the trial tribunal) sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, which confirmed/upheld the election of the 1st respondent as Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District of Kwara State in the National Assembly of Nigeria (National Assembly).

Confined to essential facts, the 1st appellant was the candidate of the 2nd appellant (P.D.P) at the senatorial election conducted by the 3rd respondent (INEC) on 28 March 2015 for Kwara Central Senatorial District of Kwara State. The 1st respondent was his major foe at the election. He contested the election under the ticket of the 2nd respondent, (APC). The 1st respondent was declared winner of the election by the 3rd respondent with 118,879 votes against 66,864 votes credited to the 1st appellant.
