ONNOGHEN JSC (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This is an appeal against the ruling of the lower court delivered on 7 May 2001 in appeal No. 0A/L/l02/2000 in which the court granted the application of the present respondents who were the appellants/applicants before that court, in the following terms: “1. leave is hereby granted to the applicants to amend their notice of appeal dated 29 July 1999; time to apply for leave to appeal on grounds of mixed law and fact is extended till today; leave is hereby granted to appeal on grounds of mixed law and fact; the amended notice of appeal shall be filed within 14 days from today; the appeal shall be heard on the bundle of documents marked “record of appeal” filed in this court’s registry on 7 March 2000 and such other documents therespondent maybe advisedto file within 21 days from today; the said record of appeal filed on 7 March 2000 are hereby deemed to be properly filed.’
