ADEKEYE, JCA (Delivering the Lead Ruling): On the 13th of March, 2001, Lawal Akeem, Sango Lade Tinuade, Wale Eleto, Musa Toyin, Bello Temitope and Lawal Ibrahim, henceforth to be referred to as the appellants/ applicants, for themselves and on behalf of the Students Union University of Ibadan, filed a motion on notice pursuant to section 16 of the Court of Appeal Act, Order 3 rule 3(1) and Order 1 rule 20(8) of the Court of Appeal Rules 1981 as amended in 1984, asking for an order of injunction restraining the respondent from carrying out orders of the Federal High Court Ibadan delivered by Justice D. J.K. Lawson on the 5th of February, 2001 and from taking any other action based on the ruling which may prejudicially affect the legal rights of the applicants as students of the University of Ibadan.
