ADAMU JAURO, J.S.C. (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Ibadan Judicial Division, delivered on the 6th day of December, 2019 in appeal No. CA/IB/170c/2018 affirming the judgment of the High Court of Ogun State, Abeokuta Judicial Division, delivered on the 13th day of June, 2017 in Suit No. AB/ICPC/01/2015.
The appellant herein, Adeyemi Alaba Samuel, along with two others (Amuludun Tosin and Yusuf Temilade), were at all material times members of staff of the Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State (hereinafter referred to as "TASCE" or "the College"). This College is a tertiary institution wholly owned and funded by the Government of Ogun State. By virtue of their employment as non-academic staff, they were members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), specifically the TASCE chapter.
