RULING

The applicants (1st and 2nd defendants) have filed a motion on notice praying the court, “to strike out processes filed and acts done by Mr. Ransford Opoku in view of the ruling delivered by His Lordship Justice John Ajet Nasam on 30th May, 2011.”

The said ruling was delivered consequent upon an objection raised by the applicants herein that Ransfor Opoku who is a non lawyer cannot practice law as a lawyer.

The present application seeks to strike out all processes and acts done by Mr. Ransford Opoku. Counsel for the applicants attached the Powers of Attorney granted to the done as in proper.

Before I go into the issues on the Powers of Attorney, I would like to tackle the matter raised in paragraph 6 of the applicants’ affidavit. It states:

“That in view of ruling of this Honourable Court, processes filed and acts done by Mr. Ransford Opoku in this suit should be struck out and the plaintiffs ordered to engage a lawyer.” (emphasis mine)
