IBRAHIM SHATA BDLIYA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court, Jos, delivered by Hon. Justice A. L. ALLAGOA on 16th December, 2010, in suit No. FHC/34C/2010. The appellants were arraigned before the Federal High court (hereinafter referred to as the lower court) for alleged commission of offence under section 518(5) of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C38 LFN, 2004; sections 5(1) and 27(1) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 LFN, 2004 and Section 15(2) of the Economic and Financial crimes commission Act, 2004. They were found guilty, convicted and sentenced to various terms of imprisonment by the lower court. Dissatisfied with their conviction and sentences, each of them appealed to this court.
