J U D G M E N T
The parties were married under the Civil Marriage Act (Cap 97) at the Registrar’s Office Freetown in the Western Area of the state of Sierra Leone on the 3rd day of October 2012. The parties who are both Ghanaians cohabited at No. 7 Hassan Drive, Juba Hills Freetown, Sierra Leone. The Petitioner is a banker at the Standard Chartered Bank Ghana and the Respondent is a student domiciled in the United States of America. There is no issue of the marriage. The Petitioner filed the petition on the 5th day of April, 2016 for the following reliefs:
i. That the said marriage contracted between the parties in Sierra Leone be dissolved.
ii. That the marital property which is the mortgaged house at Plot 45, Zone 5/7 Baatsona, Spintex Road, Accra be settled on the Petitioner.
