RITA NOSAKHARE PEMU, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the Judgment of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, delivered on the 22nd of October, 2016 in suit NO FCT/HC/CV/1125/2012.
SYNOPSIS OF FACTS
The parties had been engaged in a suit NO FCT/HC/CV/1125/2012 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. The Court below referred the matter to the Abuja Multi Door Court House, who appointed one Ms. Ukpeme Akpan as the Arbitrator.
On the 12th of July 2011, the Sole Arbitrator held a preliminary meeting, and the Appellant's Counsel, after communication with his client's Company Directors, raised objection to the jurisdiction of the Sole Arbitrator, who held that she was competent to assume jurisdiction in the matter.
After the first preliminary meeting held on the 12th of July 2011, no other notices were given to the Appellant about hearings and change of venue from Wuze Zone 5 to Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse, Gudu District High C…
