The appellants herein have brought this appeal against the judgment of the District Court Grade I, Akwatia dated 9 December 1970 in which they lost to the respondent on his claim for ¢ 607.50 as compensation for injury he received in the course of his employment with the appellants. The action was brought under the Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1963 (Act 174), claiming compensation.
On 8 September 1969, and at the instance of the respondent the District Court Grade I, Akwatia, issued out a notice addressed to the appellants as follows:
“Take notice that, if you intend to oppose the application, of which a copy is served upon you herewith, you must lodge with me, within twenty-one days after the service of this notice upon you, a written answer thereto containing a concise statement of the extent and grounds of your opposition.
