ALI ABUBAKAR BABANDI GUMEL, J.C.A (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the ruling of the Governorship and Legislative Houses. Election Tribunal established for Zamfara State in Election petition No. EPT/ZMS/GS/GOV/03/07. The ruling was delivered on 2nd July, 2007. On the 14th April, 2007 elections were held into the office of State Governors throughout Nigeria. In Zamfara State the 1st Petitioner/Appellant was sponsored by the 2nd Petitioner/Appellant, while the 3rd Respondent/Respondent sponsored the 4th Respondent/Respondent. The election was conducted by the 1st and 2nd Respondents/Respondents. At the end of the election, the 1st and 2nd Respondents declared the 4th Respondent as the winner with 415,454 votes against 73,652 votes scored by the 2nd Appellant. The 3rd Respondent was struck out in the course of the proceedings before the lower Tribunal.
