OGEBE JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): Fourteen (14) cases were filed cumulatively at the Ikeja High Court by 14 different plaintiffs. All the plaintiffs were salaried junior workers of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc whose contracts of employment had been terminated on grounds of redundancy between the 31st of October 1986 and the 31st of December 1986. The defendant in each of the 14 cases was Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, the present appellant. All the plaintiffs were claiming their pecuniary terminal entitlements.

The fourteen (14) cases were assigned suit Nos. 1103/91-1116/91.

The first of the cases, suit No. 1103/91 was entitled Charles Sunday Okosun v. Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc ( Okosun’s case ). Saka Oladimeji Sanni is the 2nd respondent to this appeal.
