(Delivering the Leading Judgment): In this appeal the Appellants, who were the Respondents in the Court below are challenging the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in the Jalingo Judicial Division, Taraba State in Suit No: FHC/TAR/CS/4/2014: Peter O. Ikpila and Anor. v. Inspector General of Police and 2 Ors. delivered by D. U. Okorowo J., on 19/5/2014 in which the Appellants were found culpable to the Respondents, who were the Applicants in the Court below for the infringement of the right to life of Terhila Ikpila and Loho Dutse and damages in the sum of N7,500,000.00 each as compensation for the life of each of the deceased persons. 

The Appellants thoroughly dissatisfied with the said judgment had appealed to this Court vide a Notice of Appeal filed on 5/6/2014 on five grounds of appeal.
