UCHECHUKWU ONYEMENAM, J.C.A. (Delivering the Lead Ruling): The Applicant initiated this motion on 6th February, 2025; pursuant to Section 24(4) of the Court of Appeal, Act, Order 6 Rule 9 of the Court of Appeal, Rules, 2021; and the inherent jurisdiction of the Court, praying for the following orders:

  1. Granting the Cross-Appellant/Applicant extension of time within which to Cross-Appeal against a part of the decision of the High Court of Calabar delivered in this suit on 12th July, 2019.

  2. Granting the Cross-Appellant/Applicant leave to file the Notice of Cross-Appeal in the registry of the Court of Appeal, Calabar.

  3. Granting the Cross-Appellant/Applicant leave to compile the record for the cross-appeal personally within 14 days from the grant of this application.

  4. Abridging the time within which the parties may file their briefs of arguments in respect of the cross-appeal to 5 days for the Cross-Appellant from the compilation of the record for the Cross-Appeal and 7 days for the Respondents f…
