HADIZA RABIU SHAGARI, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the High Court of Justice of Ondo State, Akure Division, delivered by Hon. Justice W.R Olamide on 28th September, 2023 in Suit No FC/AK/6C/2020 wherein the appellant was convicted and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for the offence of sexual abuse and exploitation of a child, contrary to and punishable under Section 32(1)&(2) of the Child Rights Law, Laws of Ondo State, 2007.
STATEMENT OF FACTS
The appellant was arraigned before the trial Court on an amended information dated 3rd November, 2021 on a one-count charge of sexual abuse and exploitation with a child, contrary to and punishable under Section 32(1) and (2) of the Child Rights Law, Laws of Ondo State, 2007, on the 8th February, 2022.
