JUDGMENT
JUDGMENT OF GATEMBU, JA
The substantive appeal herein is brought by Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme & 8 others (“the Client” or “the Pension Scheme”). The said appellant has challenged a ruling delivered by the Employment and Labour Relations Court (Rika, J.) on July 17, 2020 dismissing their application to set aside a taxation by the Deputy Registrar of the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC) of an advocate-client bill of costs presented by the law firm of Kinyua Muyaa & Co. Advocate (“the Advocates”). In the same ruling, the learned Judge allowed an application by the Advocates and entered judgment in their favour against the Client for Kshs.87,139,560.00 plus additional interest from April 25, 2020, being the advocate-client costs assessed by the Deputy Registrar of the ELRC.
