ABDU DOGO, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal is against the whole decision/judgment of the High Court of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Division (the lower Court) in Suit No: FCT/HC/CV/1867/2024 delivered on 25th September, 2025 by Hon. Justice Samirah Umar Bature, J. wherein the lower Court entered judgment in favour of the Respondent in respect of his claim for Professional fees.
BACKGROUND FACT
The Respondent was the Claimant before the lower Court. He initiated the suit via a Writ of Summon accompanied with a statement of claim, a witness statement on oath, and a pre-action counselling certificate all filed on 28th March, 2024 before the lower Court wherein he claimed the following reliefs against the Appellant:
The sum of N7,300,000 (Seven Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira) only being the Claimant’s professional fee for all the legal services rendered.
10% interest on judgement sum from the date of judgment until the final liquidation of the entire judgment …
