BIOBELE ABRAHAM GEORGEWILL, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the High Court of Lagos State, Coram: L. A. Okunnu J., in Suit No. D/1161/2004: Veronica Lawani and Anor V. Mrs. Risikatu Grillo and ors., delivered on 9/6/2010, in which some of the claims of the 1st - 7th Respondents as Claimants against the Appellant and 8th - 9th Respondents as Defendants were granted, while the counter claim of the Appellant was dismissed.
The Appellant was thoroughly dissatisfied with the said judgment and had promptly appealed to this Court and the Amended Notice of Appeal was filed on 24/1/2017 on four grounds of appeal. The Record of Appeal was transmitted to this Court on 25/9/2013 but deemed properly transmitted on 13/5/2015. The Appellant's brief was filed on 24/1/2017. The 1st - 7th Respondent's brief was filed on 15/2/2017. The 8th - 9th Respondents did not file any brief.
