J U D G M E N T
The parties were married under the Marriage Ordinance (Cap 127) (1951 Rev.) on the 29th day of December, 2007 at the High Powered Ministries International, Lashibi, Accra. The parties who are both Ghanaians cohabited at Dansoman, Accra. The Petitioner is an employee of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust whilst the Respondent works with Toyota Ghana Ltd.
This petition was filed on the 26th day of November, 2011 for the following reliefs:
a. That the said marriage be dissolved.
b. Any further order (s) of the honourable Court as it may deem fit.
The Respondent filed an Answer on the 28th day of February 2011. She averred that she was a few months pregnant with the Petitioner’s baby at the time the petition was filed and that the parties were still living as man and wife. She further averred that the Petitioner’s conduct in filing the petition had caused her embarrassment, anxiety and distress. She cross-petitioned for reliefs as follows:
