JUDGMENT 

This is a suit involving two persons once united through the power of love and  strongly bonded in the beauty of marriage at the beginning of this century. Unfortunately as the years rolled by, the thread interweaving these two hearts weakened and eventually brought the relationship to a sour end. Since there were some properties at the centre, the parties have extended an invitation to this Court to make pronouncements on them as to whether they were solely acquired by the husband or were jointly acquired by both couple. In the case of Verdoes v. Koranchie [2016] 94 GMJ 164, the Court of Appeal per Kusi-Appiah J.A. held: “Once a party to a marriage is claiming interest or title in the subject property as solely acquired and the other party disputes that, the issue becomes contentious. In such situation, the court is duty bound to exercise its discretion  judiciously by examining the facts and evidence of the parties and come to a  conclusion through its findings of fact”. …
