JUDGMENT
A. Introduction
Impeachment or removal from public office in the context of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 is about integrity in leadership. To understand the past is to prepare for the future because lessons from human history are full of insights into the nature of human experience and the culture of man. History does not have to repeat itself, but it will, if we fail to learn from it.
Based on the facts and circumstances of this case, there are lessons to be drawn from great leaders in the days of old who quickly ascended to leadership with such promise of exceptional success, only to disastrously fall into eternal disgrace. King Saul, who was technically Israel’s first King, has been described as a tragic figure. Based on his reign of power, he has been given as a perfect example of how leadership can destroy a person who, by his or her character, has not been prepared for it.
