UGOCHUKWU ANTHONY OGAKWU, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): The Appellant was arraigned before the High Court of Oyo State on a one count charge of manslaughter in CHARGE NO. HSK/8C/2014: THE STATE v. MAMMAN MOHAMMED. The Prosecution called four witnesses in proof of the Charge and tendered several exhibits, including the extra-judicial statement of one Hassan Mohammadu, who was not called as a witness, and which was admitted in evidence as Exhibit B. The Appellant testified for himself and did not call any witness. In its judgment, the lower Court convicted the Appellant as charged and sentenced him to fifteen (15) years imprisonment with hard labour.

The Appellant, being dissatisfied with the decision of the lower Court appealed against the same by Notice of Appeal filed on 31st December, 2018.
