SANKEY, J.S.C. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This Appeal materialized from the decision of the Court of Appeal, Kana division CORAM: Hon. Justice A. D. Yahaya (read the lead judgment), Hon. Justice A. O. Abiru (now JSC), and Hon. Justice A. A. Wambai, JCA delivered on 25th of September, 2020 affirming the conviction and sentence of the appellant by the trial court.

A two-count charge of Robbery and Illegal Possession of Fire-arms contrary to sections 1 and 3(1) of the Robbery and Fire-arms (Special Provisions) Act respectively was proffered against the appellant before the High Court of Kano State.

In proof of these charges brought against the appellant, the prosecution called four witnesses and tendered seven exhibits marked exhibits A, B, C1- C4 and D. PW1 and PW2 (AbubakarS. Yakubu and Yusuf Abudullahi respectively) were neighbours of PW4, Yunusa Baffa Uba, who was the victim; while PW3 was a member of the of the police team that investigated the incident at the State CID.
