ITA GEORGE MBABA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal emanated from the decision of Enugu Division of Investment and Securities Tribunal in Suit No. IST/EN/OA/04/2013, delivered on 5th March, 2018, wherein the Honourable Tribunal dismissed the claim of the Applicant against the Respondents, except the 4th Respondent, against whom was awarded, what Appellant called “paltry nominal damages.”

At the Tribunal, Appellant (who was the Applicant) had sought the following reliefs, as per Paragraph 7 of his claims in the originating process:

(a) A declaration that the Applicant’s signature (which appears on Zenith Bank Plc’s signature confirmation letter of May 30, 2006, to the Registrar, United Securities Ltd) was properly verified, properly recognized and properly recorded in the register of members/register of shareholders and other records of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc by United Securities Limited and is therefore the Applicant’s one and only signature for all purposes connect…
