HASSAN JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): The 1st and 2nd respondents were the plaintiffs at the trial court. They filedan amended joint statement of claim which is undated against the appellant, claiming as follows: 1. The sum of N1,000.00k (one thousand naira) per day from 3 September 2002, till final determination of this suit being minimum daily income of the Lifan Motorcycle AX100. 2. The sum of N75,000.00k (seventy five thousand naira) being the cost of Lifan Motorcycle AX100 with registration No. QD 019 ABJ and with Engine No. FMG 2002 112. The sum of N1,000,000.00k (one million naira) being general damages for defamation of character and false imprisonment of the 1st plaintiff. The sum of N500,000.00k (five hundred thousand naira) being general damages for defamation of character and false imprisonment of the 2nd plaintiff.
