ADEBUKUNOLA ADEOTI BANJOKO, JCA (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an Appeal against the Judgment of the High Court of Ogun State, Abeokuta Judicial Division, delivered by Hon. Justice O.O. Majekodunmi in Charge No. AB/26R/2014 on the 3rd day of February, 2016, which can be seen at Pages 65 to 86 of the Records of Appeal.

The Case according to the Appellant, is that he is a driver by profession, and after the close of work on the 7th of June, 2012, while heading back home, he stopped to buy something, when four (4) Police Officers met him and inquired what he was doing at the spot and before he could respond to them, the Officers started beating, slapping and calling him a thief.

He later found himself at the hospital and was subsequently taken to the Police Station. Further, the Appellant denied signing Exhibits P6 and P7 (The Confessional Statements allegedly obtained from him).
