This dispute began in January 2009, when the plaintiff, who claimed to be the head of the Akonkodiase family of Hemang, instituted legal action against the defendants over parcels of land at Hemang-Kumasi. By his amended writ of summons and accompanying statement of claim dated 28/11/2022, the plaintiff claimed against the defendants the following reliefs:

(a) A declaration of title to all that parcel and piece of land lying and situate at Hemang at a place commonly known as Oheneyere Ama Bebu’s land in the hands of the Akonkodiase Family of Hemang and sharing boundaries as follows: - the Apre Stool land, Hemang Stool Land, Kagyasi Stool land, Apampatia Stool land and Kokoben stool land.

(b) Recovery of possession of all that piece of land which the defendants refer to as Plot No. 158 Block ‘C’ as forming part of Oheneyere Ama Bebu’s Land onto which the defendants have trespassed.
