A conviction can quite properly be based entirely on the evidence of a confession by a prisoner, and such evidence is sufficient as long as the trial judge, as in this case, enquired most carefully into the circumstances in which the alleged confession was made and was satisfied of its genuineness—see R. v. Omokaro (1941) 7 W.A.C.A. 146, which cites the case of R. v. Walter Sykes (1913) 8 Cr. App. R. 233.
