JUDGMENT
AGBEVEY, J.
The parties were married under the Marriage Ordinance (Cap 127) on the 12th day of December, 2009 at the Tema Municipal Assembly. The parties are both Ghanaian citizens residing in the country. The marriage did not produce a child. The petitioner is a secretary and the Respondent is an insurer.
By a petition filed on the 16th July 2015, the Petitioner is seeking the following reliefs:
i. That the marriage be dissolved.
ii. That the Respondent be ordered to pay the Petitioner a lump sum of GHS 50,000.00 as compensation for the wasted years.
iii. Other just and equitable reliefs.
iv. Cost of this suit.
The Respondent filed an Answer in which he denied the material particulars save that he agrees that the marriage has broken down beyond reconciliation. He cross-petitioned as follows:
a. An order dissolving the marriage contracted between the parties on the 12th day of December, 2009.
b. An order for each party to bear the respective cost of this action.
