OBIETONBARA O. DANIEL-KALIO, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): The appeal before us is over the Ruling of the High Court of Kano State (the lower Court) delivered on 15/4/15 in a matter commenced under the Undefended List procedure. The Respondent Unity Bank Plc as the plaintiff in that Court, claimed that the Appellants in this appeal (the defendants at the lower Court), were indebted to it in the sum of N124,377,054.40 (One Hundred and Twenty Four Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Seven Thousand and Fifty Four Naira, Forty kobo) as at 31/7/2014. After hearing the case to which the Appellants did not file a defence, the lower Court gave judgment to the Respondent. Dissatisfied with the judgment, the Appellants filed a Notice of Appeal on 17/4/15 which they later amended. The amended Notice of Appeal was filed on 23/1/17.
