PETER OYINKENIMIEMI AFFEN, J.C.A. (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This is an appeal against the reserved judgment handed down on 30/6/2023 by the High Court of Ekiti State, holden at Ado-Ekiti ("Trial Court") in Charge No. HAD/16C/2022: State of Ekiti v Ogundipe Ronke & 4 Ors, wherein the Appellant and her codefendants were convicted and sentenced on a 4-count charge of criminal conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, attempted murder, and stealing, contrary to Ss. 512, 355, 320 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C16, Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria, 2012. It was alleged that the Appellant (who was charged as 1st Defendant) and others conspired amongst themselves to commit, and did commit the said offences against one Jaiyeola Ishola (PW2) on or about 11/5/2021 at Ijero-Ekiti within the jurisdiction of the Trial Court.
