BY COURT: SUMMING UP;
Lady and Gentlemen of the jury, we have now come to the conclusion of the trial after the accused persons and their witnesses have testified in this case. Counsel for the Prosecution and the accused persons or the defence have also addressed you.
It is now my duty as this stage to sum up the evidence and address you on the law which may be applicable to this case. I will also explain to you your duties as jurors and direct you on the general rules of the law that govern this case and the evidence you have heard.
I will also explain the burden cast on the Prosecution that is the burden of proof which is proof beyond reasonable doubt in order to establish the guilt of the Accused persons, the defences raised and any other issue (s) raised by the defence that may benefit the accused persons.
