RULING
INTRODUCTION:
Reading through a couple of decisions of the Superior Courts in Ghana, particularly the High Court and the Supreme Court, bothering on applications invoking their supervisory jurisdiction for an order of judicial review in the nature of certiorari, I reckon that the parties involved were usually described as the applicant, the respondent and the interested party. The applicant was obviously the one who invoked the supervisory jurisdiction of the High Court or the Supreme Court, as the case may be, whereas the respondent was usually the lower court or lower adjudicating authority whose decision or order was the subject of the application; and the interested party happened to be the party who stood to be affected whether directly or indirectly by the decision of the High Court or Supreme Court in the application. To my mind, this observation, if it is anything to go by, renders the title of the instant application a bit problematic though not fatal to the application.
