ABBA BELLO MOHAMMED, JCA (DELIVERING THE LEADING JUDGEMENT): This appeal is against the judgment of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, coram: Hon. Justice Muhammad S. Idris (the trial court), delivered on the 15th of May, 2023, wherein the learned trial judge convicted and sentenced the Appellant for the offences of conspiracy, theft and culpable homicide under Sections 97(1), 220(a) &(b), 221, 286 and 290 of the Penal Code, respectively. The judgment of the trial court is at pages 145 – 159 of the Record of Appeal.
Dissatisfied with the judgment of the trial court, the Appellant files a Notice of Appeal on the 18th of July, 2023 containing eight grounds of appeal. The Notice of Appeal is at pages 160 – 170 of the Record of Appeal. The Record of Appeal was transmitted to this Court on the 29th of September, 2023.
