1. Public Holidays

A day specified in the First Schedule is hereby declared a public holiday throughout the Republic.[Amended by section 2 of the Public Holidays Amendment Act, 2019 (Act 986)]

2. Additional Holidays

In addition to the public holidays provided under section 1, the President may, in the public interest, by executive instrument declare any other day to be a public holiday.
