AN ACT to establish a National Disaster Management Organisation to manage disasters and to provide for related matters.

The National Disaster Management Organisation

1. Establishment of National Disaster Management Organisation

(1)There is established by this Act a body to be known as the National Disaster Management Organisation.

(2)The Organisation may for the discharge of its functions acquire and hold movable and immovable property and enter into a contract or other transaction.

(3)Where there is hindrance to the acquisition of property, the property may be acquired for the Organisation under the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act 125) and the costs shall be borne by the Organisation.
