AN ACT to amend the Children's Act, 1998 (Act 560) to make further provisions in respect of foster-care and adoption and for related matters.PASSED by Parliament and assented to by the President.

1. Section 18 of Act 560 amended

The Children's Act, 1998 (Act 560) referred to in this Act as the principal enactment is amended in subsection (1) of section 18

(a)by the substitution for paragraph (e) of

"(e) is under the care of a parent or guardian who, by reason of abuse of substance, is unfit to have the care of the child·"· and

(b)by the insertion after paragraph (e) of

"(eA) is under the care of a parent or guardian who by reason of a criminal conviction particularly in relation to child abuse is unfit to have the care of the child;".
