AN ACT to amend the Patents Act, 2003 (Act 657) to provide for the protection of inventions, promotion of innovation and competitiveness as well as creativity, technology and development at the national level and for related matters.

1. Section 2 of Act 657

The Patents Act, 2003 (Act 657) referred to in this Act as the "principal enactment", is amended in section 2 by
(a)the substitution for paragraph (f) of"(f) essentially biological processes for the protection of plants or animals other than micro-biological processes and all or part of natural living beings and biological materials found in nature, including the genome or germ plasm of any natural living being and the natural biological processes;"; and
