AN ACT provided for the orderly and progressive development of land, towns and other areas, to preserve and improve their amenities and for related matters.

Preliminary

1. Transfer of functions of the Board to the Minister

(1)The Minister shall be the authority for town and country planning instead of the Town and Country Planning Board and shall perform all the functions now performed by the Board.
(2)The Minister may delegate any of the functions of the Minister concerning town and country planning to any other person, and in so doing may impose on the person to whom the functions are delegated the appropriate conditions, exceptions and qualifications in the performance of any of the delegated functions.[Amended by section 2 and the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Act, 1958 (Act 30 of 1958).
