IN the exercise of the power conferred on the National Biosafety Authority with the prior approval in wrting by the Minister by subsection (1) of section 40 of the Biosafety Act, 2011 (Act 831) and in consultation with the Ministers responsible for Health and Food and Agriculture, these Regulations are made this day 17th day of April, 2019.

Institutional Arrangements

1. The National Focal Point.

(1)The Authority as the national focal point in accordance with paragrapgh (c) of section 4 of the Act is responsible for the following:

(a)liasing with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity for the performance of administrative functions required under the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety;
