IN exercise of the power conferred on the General Legal Council by section 53 of the Legal Profession Act, 1960 (Act 32) and with the approval of the Minister responsible for Justice, these Rules are made this 1st day of October, 2020.

Complaint Procedure

1. Complaint against lawyer

(1)A person dissatisfied with the professional conduct of a lawyer may lodge a complaint with the disciplinary committee.

(2)A complaint under subrule (1) shall be in writing and accompanied with the relevant documents in support of the complaint.

(3)The disciplinary committee shall, on receipt of a complaint under subrule (1), forward a copy of the complaint and the attachments to the lawyer against whom the complaint has been lodged.
