IN exercise of the power conferred on the Minister responsible for Trade by section 12 and paragraph (a) of section 13 of the Export and Import Act, 1995 (Act 503), these Regulations are made this 1st day of September, 2022.

Preliminary Provisions

1. Purpose of Regulations

The purpose of these Regulations is to

(a)provide for an export licensing system for the exportation of grains for commercial purposes from the country;

(b)regulate the exportation of grains from the country; and

(c)ensure the availability of grains

(i)for domestic use; and

(ii)to meet local processing requirements for animal production, the poultry industry and the food and beverage industry.

2. Application of Regulations

These Regulations apply to the exportation of grains from the country.
