IN exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister responsible for the Environment by paragraph (c) of section 43 of the Environmental Protection Act, 2025 (Act 1124) and in consultation with the Board of the Environmental Protection Authority, these Regulations are made this 23rd day of June, 2025.

Preliminary Provisions

1. Purpose of Regulations

The purpose of these Regulations is

(a)to control effluent discharges into the environment to protect the environment and public health;

(b)to ensure that releases and discharges of harmful substances from an activity into the environment comply with the requirements specified in the Ghana Standard for Environmental Protection - Requirements for Effluent Discharge (GS 1212) as may be revised from time to time; and
