AN ACT to establish the University of Cape Coast and to provide for related matters.

The University

1. University of Cape Coast continued in existence

(1)The University of Cape Coast established under section 1 of the University of Cape Coast Act, 1971 (Act 390) and in existence immediately before the commencement of this Act, is hereby continued in existence subject to the provisions of this Act.

(2)The University shall continue to be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.

(3)The University shall have power to award its own degrees including honorary degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions.
