An Act of Parliament to establish a society to promote the welfare, education, training and employment of the blind and to assist in the prevention and alleviation of blindness; and for other purposes connected therewith

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Kenya Society for the Blind Act.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requiresβ€”β€œthe blind” means those persons who are deprived of all sight, or are so deprived of sight that they require the aid of special facilities to obtain education, training or employment;"Council” means the Council appointed under the provisions of section 6 of this Act;β€œfinancial year” means the twelve-month period from the 1st January in any one year, or from such other date as the Council may direct;β€œlocal branch or committee of the Society” mean…
