An Act of Parliament to provide for the protection of persons against risks of poisoning by certain substances, and for matters incidental thereto and connected therewith.

1. Short title and commencement

This Act may be cited as the Use of Poisonous Substances Act, and shall come into operation on such day as the Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, appoint.[L.N. 365/1964, Sch.]

2. Interpretation

In this Act, except where the context otherwise requires—“employee” means a person employed under a contract of service or apprenticeship or gratuitously, casually or otherwise employed;“inspector” means an inspector appointed under section 5;“poisonous substance” means any substance or class of substances declared to be a poisonous substance under the provisions of section 9 of this Act and …
