An Act of Parliament to give legal sanction to the provisions of the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of other States

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Investment Disputes Convention Act.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, “Convention” means the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of other States, a copy whereof is contained in the Schedule to this Act.

3. Confirmation of status, immunities and privileges of Centre

The provisions of Articles 18 to 24 (inclusive) of the Convention (which confer certain status, immunities and privileges on the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes) shall take effect as part of the law of Kenya, so far as they affect Kenya.
